Seven Point Technologies...
Jeff and Erik had a singular connection prior to starting Seven Point Technologies, and that connection was Click Effects ProAudio. Jeff had worked with Click Effects for many years prior to its acquisition by Chyron, and Erik used Click Effects ProAudio as a DJ with the Dallas Cowboys and numerous other teams in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas.
One call later, Erik and Jeff were talking through the landscape of the current marketplace for DJs. Jeff shared that he, too, had ideas and dreams of what a new solution might look like, and the two decided to get right to work. The only issue was that both worked full time, so this would be a part-time project – a hobby.
And then… COVID. Everything stopped. The world nearly stopped. Sports shut down. Businesses shook. The livelihood of DJs across the world were thrown into question. No group meetings, no sporting events. And when sports events did return, there would not be any fans. But still this pair trudged on and talked about how it might be better when, and if, things returned to normal.
And eventually things did return to normal. Sports returned. Fans returned. And slowly but surely things were looking up.
And then… COVID. No – not another variant or outbreak, but definitely another impact. The company that Jeff was working for full time shuttered. After returning from a trip to Sacramento on business Jeff called the CFO of his then company for a budget discussion only to learn he would likely be out of a job within 48 hours. One email later and it was too real.
This is where the story gets good, though. With the full encouragement of his wife, Jeff sold the house his family was living in, downsized to a small apartment with his wife and three daughters and went to work full time on 7 Point Audio. Within a few months a basic product was ready that went to the Olympic Games Beijing 2022 with Erik at the helm. And a couple months later Erik took 7 Point Audio to the San Diego Padres 2022 season as the in-house DJ.
In July 2022 7 Point Audio was publicly released and the rest… well, it is what you see today. It’s not history because it is still evolving and growing based upon customer feedback. It is what this team thrives on; hearing from customers about what their needs are and constantly refining the solution to make the best product possible. And it is what continues to this day.
A last interesting aside – due to COVID and other scheduling issues and gaps, Jeff and Erik have never actually met in person. Sure, there may have been a time or two that they were both in DFW, Erik sitting on a plane just before it pulled back from the gate, Jeff sitting on a plane taxiing to the terminal, but they have never been close enough to shake hands. This obvious, yet still unlikely, team has created this wonderful product fully via remote Zooms and phone calls.
Anyone who is willing and able to create such a product and result from remote communications can surely be trusted to support you and your team from afar.

7 Point Audio is a game changer in the sports DJ world. It has so many features that DJ’s have been looking for all wrapped into one program. 7 Point Audio will be the go to program for sports/event DJing.
I couldn’t be happier that I made the change!
